Description
The water-saver insert is attached to the inside of our standard battery cover during our manufacturing process. Our covers are then shipped to the battery manufacturer who then welds the covers to their battery jars to form a tight seal. After the battery is sold to the end user and placed into operation, the covered battery cells begin to lose water through the vent caps due to evaporation. A portion of the water vapor that would otherwise escape from the battery will condense on the water-saver insert and then return to the pool of electrolyte. Therefore, more water will be retained in the battery cells instead of evaporating. As a result, the need to add more water to the battery is reduced. This results in lower upkeep costs and more uptime since the battery will need to be refilled less often.
The results of an independent lab test showed that our hybrid battery cover with the water-saver insert saved up to 25% more water than a control group of standard battery covers. We make battery cell covers in both standard and custom sizes for OEM and battery manufacturing companies. To view our current part drawings, select one of the links below.
